ZEE ENTERTAINMENT ENTERPRISES LIMITED EXTENDS TEN SPORTS’ AUDIO MONITORING AND POWER MANAGEMENT CAPABILITY WITH TSL PRODUCTS
Ten Sports covers international events such as the US Open, WTA, Chennai Open, FIH (Field Hockey), WWE, Tour de France, Athletics World Championship, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. TSL Products’ PAM2 MK2 Dolby units are being used to monitor Ten Sports’ audio for live broadcasts and post-production for new broadcast standards and multi-language compatibility, as well as decoding and monitoring Dolby Digital Plus signals.
The PAM2 MK2 is ideal for today’s complex broadcast audio workflows and sports broadcast in particular, where live audio and action noise levels vary throughout any given programme. Loudness is an increasingly critical issue for broadcasters across the region who will need to comply with forthcoming government standards and regulations; the PAM2 MK2 provides key features such as simultaneous measurement of Short-term Loudness value and Integrated Loudness value, as well as a unique Loudness histogram display that can show up to 80 minutes of loudness history. The system can also decode and monitor Dolby E, Dolby Digital and Digital Plus signals, and has an external SDI monitor output.
Ten Sports is using the MDU12-PAi power management units to perform the crucial role of monitoring and controlling power, current and temperature across the facility. The distribution units feature Ethernet SNMP alarms and email alerts for all GPIs and fuses in case of failure, with unit and SNMP (simple network management protocol) configuration via a secure web browser interface. Power for each output can be displayed in a variety of units, and the system provides over/under current SNMP and email alarm settings for each output.
Swarup Mukherjee, Regional Sales Manager, TSL Products, said; “We are delighted that Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited has chosen to extend its TSL Products’ portfolio at the Ten Sports facility, giving the channel confidence in consistently producing high quality content with a reliable and compliant audio workflow.”
